From what I have seen, very little of the "disrespect" that American's receive in other countries comes from their president ...
I think one thing people never seem to consider is that Obama is set up to be a massive "failure" primarily because people's expectations of him are entirely unrealistic. When it starts to become clear that Obama can not give a speech that heals the world, and he starts to make decisions which are not (necessarily) in everyone's best interest, it will be interesting to see how "loved" he is then
