that was a pretty awful list. when clicking on this thread i thought it was gonna be a list of 6 games cuz i couldn't think of anything outside of sony exclusives that microsoft and nintendo could possibly want from sony.
1. Build a future proof console - this is not a real thing, its just a marketing scheme. besides there isn't really any noticeable difference in power between ps3 and 360 so it doesn't even make sense in the context brought up here. the only thing that makes a system "future proof" is popularity, so in that sense the wii is the only future proof system, just like ps2 and psx were future proof despite being the least powerful systems, because they dominated the market.
2. make a less restricted downloadable game market - uhh, i'm pretty sure ps3 has the WORST downloadable game market. wii has by far the best with the amazing VC and the already good wiiware games which are only gonna get better since it just came out last spring.
3. make rechargeable batteries standard - that would be nice. but i have no problem just using my rechargeable batteries for my wii controllers so its no big deal.
4. implement blu-ray - umm, please no. thats a horrible idea. blu-ray is the reason why ps3 is in last place and it doesn't add anything to the gameplay.
5. make a more media friendly console - so by this you mean what has the most multi-media features. well, again that doesn't do anything to improve the games so its kinda pointless. i'd say the wii does the best job since it didn't jack up the price by putting in pointless non-gaming related features like movie playback.
6. put a harddrive in every console - yeah, every console does have a harddrive. wii and 360 arcade have small harddrives but they are there. yeah the wii should have a harddrive of like 2-5gigs rather than half a gig, but its not that bad. but i sorta agree with this since it would be nice to have a couple gigs of flash in the wii.
overall, this list doesn't really make any sense.
end of '08 predictions: wii - 43 million, 360 - 25 million, ps3 - 20 million
