1. Build a Future-Proof Console
Yeah right. There is no proof besides Sony saying themselves that this console will last ten years. If anything Sony may cave into to competition if the XBox 720/Wii HD somehow ends up looking better then the PS3 and being just as cheap. If anythings apparent from recent Sony losses and Microsoft's first XBox losses and 360 gains It's that they won't be charging as much and will try to make close to a profit on launch. If the PS3 is still $200 in four years and the next XBox is $300, I guarantee people will buy the $300 console because It would be the latest and greatest thing. Again, I don't see another console coming out that is more then $300 otherwise they have to worry about lack of sales. Case in point PS3 sales.
2. I don't understand this at all. What's so hard to download on XBLA or WiiWare? Also XBLA looks to have more content then PSN has. Much more.
3. Make Rechargeable Batteries the Standard - I have to agree with this.
4. Implement Blu-ray - Microsoft and Nintendo obviously have other patented media that will be able to store larger amounts of data. This is not necessary, and also within a few years Blu-Ray players should be down to $99 or less.
5. Make a More Media Friendly Console - Not necessary for games. I have a PC.
6. Put a Hard Drive in Every Console - As long as It's reasonable cost wise. Don't throw on a 200 gig hard drive if it ends up costing us another $100 in console price.
It's just that simple.
