let me comment out this... i can see two possibilities:
1)your friend probably needs professional help...i can't see anyone using 20 batteries in 2 weeks without losing touch with reality...how much was he playing? 24 7? if that's the case do him a favour and call a doctor.
2)tell your friend to buy his batteries in another store...don't know where he comes from but here in Italy I can buy cheap batteries and still they last for months of normal gaming (10-15hrs per week of playtime)...I got my x360 in mid November and since then i haven't changed the first pair of batteries (in the mean time i finished GoW2 twice, Mass Effect with alost every side quest, COD5 and i'm in the middle of Fallout3 and GTAIV...add some SF II HD sessions and you get the picture).
