You also don't have to replace your controller when the rechargeable battery is dead/wont hold a charge. It is replaceable and opening the controller to replace the battery($5-10 depending on shop) doesn't even void the warranty as some would expect. I think the controller is the 1 thing Sony did right this gen without any major faults, but that doesnt say very much. The only thing I dislike is the discontinued Sixaxis. Sometimes I prefer a lightweight controller and no shock so I like having both.

You might be able to play with the PS3 controller while it was plugged in, but I doubt that you could with the Wiimote
