When I first heard about the Wii, I had high expectations. Buzz was strong, sales were booming, and shortages were so bad, i had fly abroad just to get my Wii.
And yet after getting back home and switching it on, I immediately thought, hey, this is really fun. I think that is why the Wii keeps selling. Even after going through all the trouble of waiting hours in line in order to get the Wii, people come home, start to play, and truly think, well yes, it was worth the trouble I went through to get it.

If you have played games on the Wii before, and just don't understand why the console is doing so well, i suggest you don't get a Wii. Otherwise, give Wii Sports a try with a couple of friends. If you're not immediately fascinated by the potential of what Nintendo has put together, even taking into account the flaws in the game, the Wii is not for you.
If on the other hand, you have the same instantaneous reaction as most gamers and non gamers have had after trying out a Wii for the first time, you will probably end up buying it within as couple of months of first playing it.
