I'm truly sick of ports to be quite honest, but I guess that comes from supporting my console of choice....
Great games were great games, back in the day - just leave it at that. I'd much rather Nintendo put effort into making new games than tacking on Wii controls for their old games. If it's all a marketing thing, then fair enough - I would much prefer the idea that Nintendo are re-releasing Pikmin with motion controls in order to build up hype for Pikmin 3 than simply re-release it because the Wii is popular. In fact, I think that's the only reason I'd like new ports. If this is the way Nintendo is going, then it's certainly very clever. When the new Zelda comes, I'd like hype in the way of re-releasing Wind Waker on Wii and Majora's Mask on the VC. It seems like a good extra push, and certainly something a bit different to simply advertising a game.
Alas though, I don't think this is Nintendo's reason for re-releasing these games. The cash is simply too much to resist.
