I don't think MS will do anything to counter Sony in the first three quarters of 2009. They delivered a pretty stunning blow in late 08 with their aggressive pricing on the 360. Even if the PS3 outsells the 360 from March-September, the gains will be minimal. Console sales are pretty weak during those months.
They'll save their ammunition for holiday 09, I think. I imagine that their aggressive 08 strategy cut into profits pretty heavily, though it appears to have worked for them.
