Yeah like for the Playstation when they were adding an optical drive which allowed relatively huge games. Or for the Playstation 2 where they talked endlessly about the specs of their emotion engine and added a DVD drive? You mean downhill like those two?

The PS1 and PS2 weren't powerful at all. They focused on games, not technology. The PS3 never had the focus on games, only on technology.

That's why it's losing by an extremely big margin, whereas the PS1 and PS2 were marketleaders by an extremely big margin.

 

I disagree , the whole point of the technology was to support the "high end gaming" approach that Sony wanted to adopt with the PS3...the technology was for the games not the games for the technology.

Where Sony tripped up is that they sacrificed affordability and accesibility for the "high end gaming" approach hoping that the Playstation brand name would justify the high price point .
