I think that Blue Dragon definately accomplished a lot for Microsoft. I have been playing it this week and found it to be a refreshing style of RPG. Also, it appeals to more casual RPGers then the hard core fans but I think hardcore RPGers and reviewers were expecting something different and therefore expectations did not meet reality. It is at least an 8 in my books (I like Team Xbox's review of it).

Lost Odyssey looks amazing and could be the diamond from the rough this Xmas. Its expectations are in check because of Blue Dragon, but I think it will easily exceed what everyone thought it would be. This could easily be a worldwide RPG hit. It will be one of the keys to success in Japan. If it does well, then it will pave the way for more, if it bombs in Japan then Microsoft will be in tough shape there going forward. But, the nice thing is that it is a large game so it should have some longevity to consistently sell for months if it is good. Also, Microsoft seems to be using as a model for Japanese developers to show them how they can build games that are world hits rather then just in Japan.

As for Cry On, I haven't really seen or heard much. For some reason Microsoft has kept really hush-hush about 2008. But 2008 seems to be shaping up great and may even be bigger then this Xmas... Too Human, Halo Wars, Fable 2, GTA IV, GTA IV Content, Alan Wake, Cry On, Infinite Undiscovery, Banjo Kazooie, Huxley, APB, and Saints Row 2 to name a few.

Yea i agree with you, but i find blue dragon to only be really really liked by true jrpg fans, or fans who are not getting bored of the turn based, and i know that gamespot etc have played countless, so it could be that, but then again every shooter would get low

Im curious on 2008, i hope microsoft has a fantastic game in the works for late 08, they need it to at least decently compete with ps3, though the lineup is anything but weak, but the ps3 one is rather amazing at this point (with ff 13 coming out next year that is) even without it though, still a very good lineup

With regard to Call of Duty 4 having an ultra short single player campaign, I guess it may well have been due to the size limitations of DVD on the XBox 360, one of various limitations multi-platform game designers will have to take into consideration-Mike B

Game trailers-Halo 3 only dissapointed the people who wanted to be dissapointed.

Bet with Harvey Birdman that Lost Odyssey will sell more then Blue dragon did.
