Trial told man decapitated 2-year-old daughter

NEW WESTMINSTER, B.C. - A B.C. court has heard horrific details about the murder of a two-year-old girl who was allegedly beheaded by her father.

Lakvinder Kahlon is on trial in B.C. Supreme Court in New Westminster charged with first degree murder in the killing of his daughter Rajvinder in the family home in Delta a year ago.

The Crown alleges Kahlon tried to strangle his daughter while she was drinking milk and watching TV before he carried her to the kitchen where he severed her head with a knife.

The Crown says the evidence includes a 911 call from Kahlon in which he says he killed his daughter.

The girl's mother found the dead toddler after coming home from walking her two older daughters to school.

Neighbours have said Kahlon was an out-of-work drywaller who was depressed because he had no sons.
