Your asking a very valid question. The first question is will the consoles position cost the console support. The second question is it justifiable to be concerned. The answer to both questions is yes. The console will have less exclusive support, and less support in general. Yes you should be concerned it isn't just the position its the financial condition of the parent company.

No you are not paranoid. You are being rational, and perhaps you are a little further in the curve then most. A lot of posters here will not panic until it is too late. They will try to trade in their PS3 to find its worth much less due to its market position, and the lack of a true future. Consoles can be looked at as investments especially where depreciation is concerned.

Your asking sound questions, and the self serving will try to discourage you, but that is not about what is best for you. For them its all about what is best for them. There is nothing wrong with playing it safe. Selling the PS3 in favor of a 360 or a Wii is a safe move. You know you will have better games, and you know you will have better long term value. There is no reason for you to gamble with your limited gaming dollar.

Many of these posters would respond differently if they were in your situation. However they are not if the PS3 goes bust they can just buy a new console. You need to be able to sell your old console to buy a new console. The console goes bust or suffers from its market position, and you lose a lot of trade in value. I recommend you go with a safer alternative. You will sleep better, and if their argument is games for multiple platforms. You can still get the other console and have more and have those multiple platform games. It isn't even an argument against changing up consoles.

you are very funny. and very wrong...
