The WiiWare version of the game is titled Crystal Defenders R1. We're not sure what's new for the WiiWare version, although the basic goal of positioning troops in order to defeat monsters before they reach a goal point is unchanged.

Wi-Fi Connection support will be included. The magazine does not share details, but we're going to presume this will be limited to some form of download content, as Crystal Defenders is a single player game.

Famitsu is a bit unclear on the matter, but it appears that the WiiWare version will differ from the XLA and PSN versions. The magazine refers to the latter two versions as being evolved ports of the mobile title. It does not use the word "port" to describe the WiiWare version. The WiiWare version is actually the focus of the story, so it's presumable that further details on the other two versions will be shared in a future update.

The wait to play the WiiWare version won't be too long. A Japanese release is set for January 27, with pricing at 1,000 Wii Points. The XLA and PSN versions are currently without a price or date.------IGN

If Nintendo is successful at the moment, it’s because they are good, and I cannot blame them for that. What we should do is try to be just as good.----Laurent Benadiba
