Let's see...
What does "the best line-up" means?
Before going any further, some important things gathered from my long years as a RPG player:
Action RPG never really were RPG, so I won't count them as RPG.
MMORPG don't play like regular RPG either, and like above, they have very different incentive to play. You can love RPG and dislike most MMORPG.
Zelda is not a RPG, Folklore is not either, 1 minute of video or play is enough to realize that fast.
So, if the best line-up means the console with most titles in the genre, then XBox 360 wins.
If the best line-up means the console with the best WRPG, the XBox 360 wins.
If the best line-up means the console with the best JRPG, the Wii wins (hands down).
If the best line-up means the console which has the RPG you prefer, for me, the Wii wins hands down again, as I bought it mostly for Fire Emblem, alone! And it's not even out yet in Europe, I will have to wait more than one year after launch to get it. And it better have original japanese voices or I say bye bye to NoE right away, and go buy a japanese Wii.
For me, the next Fire Emblem will be put above any other game I have, as soon as I get it.
Then the ToS sequel will follow.
BTW, I explained the hype generated around XBox 360 JRPG as a heavy astroturfing campaign, which is usual MS tactics. Does someone have another explanation?
Because I just can't explain the hype that Blue Dragon generated. From seeing a few minutes of it in action, a self-respecting RPG fan will realize quickly that it's bland basic rehashed JRPG fare. Not bad, but barely average. So how come it generated so much hype?
I can understand Trusty Bell's hype, as it's not right away apparent that it's in the same league (even though I would enjoy this game without any problem), as you need to play some hours of it to see it's just a mess of a story (which is why Japan gamers said it was shamelessly overrated and didn't buy a lot of it).
