publicity stunts? that's laughable..considering most publicity stunts are meant to reach the public at large, and no one I know who doesn't have a PS3 has a clue when updates are released or what they include.
Not 1 person. No one has ever said to me, 'So I heard the PS3 got a firmware update, huh?' or 'Hey man, you have more DivX support, awesome!'...
To answer your question, no. It's almost not even worth answering because it makes no sense whatsoever.
