I know your comment was made in jest, but in part it is true. That is why I bought a Wii. Since I was with PS2 last gen, I missed out on some of the GC games that I wanted to get, yet I couldn't justify buying another console to get them.
So when the Wii announced backward compatibility with GC, that weighed in on my decision to get it. It isn't the only reason, but it certainly was a notable reason. Picked up SSBM and a couple of other GC games even before I bought a new Wii game.
