The issue is whether PS360 can survive once Wii gets over 50% of the console market.

Sure cross platform 3rd party titles will keep PS3 going for a while yet but there will come a time when blockbuster titles with blockbuster marketing budgets are an unwise investment for these dev.
Lets not forget how many PS360 developers (and their games) are failing because of their inability to hype their games enough to make a profit.

Only when Wii gets majority market share and 3rd party dev. effort will PS3 and consequently 360 have 3rd party troubles and be forced to rely on 1st party titles.

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.
