Now we've drifted off to cellphones? oh lol Anyways, I'll bite. The N97 looks great in marketing shots n stuff but there's nothing special about it. I've used nokia's s60 for years. Their interface (yes, the touch one too) is clunky and the ecosystem around symbian stinks because Nokia didn't build the platform in a way a good ecosystem could grow. It is true however that it's open and not a walled garden ala iPhone. But the iPhone, as a concept, it's years ahead of those Nokias. And it's extremely profitable - even with the few million units sold, Apple's making out like bandits. Its ironic that Apple grew in a year a better ecosystem than Nokia did in years with the s60. |
nokia it'sprofitable, n97 still yet to be released, nokia was working on hardware not software, they changed to services recently (2007).
and expect n97 to look just as good as in the video when it's released, the done it with mp3 sound quality (n91), and camera quality, (n95-n82). they will for it touch interface.
they will do it for software, also if you mean animations which it's the only thing the iphone have that s60 only recently got, and its disable in touch interfaces for a while.
they go all basic covered, even copy/paste, flash video in their mobile browser which is fast, (based on the kde webkit).
stereo bluetooth and many things iphone lacks... like VGA video recording , 5mpx-8mpx autofocus cameras. and yes people care since nokia sold over 10 million n95 faster than the iphone.
samsung its putting more pressure than apple is. with its 8mpx phones.
