VGA doesn't carry audio. Period. There is no "audio out by the VGA cable". There's nothing wrong with your tv, theres nothing wrong with your 360.

Ok youd think the J man would figure that out since owning this cable for the last 6 months.

The problem is that once the tv is in the vga mode it is only accepting audio from the 3.5mm jack , the J man is asking is there a way to change options or the tv to use red/white audio.

Jman, can you list all the options that your tv has when selecting what mode you want o choose, such as hdmi1, hdmi2, cable, av1,av2,

stuff like that because i think you are in the wrong mode, vga is for computer monitors unless that is what you are trying to use it for?

Input 1-3 is component and composite

Input-4  is what the J man dubbed vga mode because it was the only mode accepting a vga signal

Input5-9 are hdmi.

thanks, may i ask one more question?

Do you use the original cable that came with the x-box? Because those are composite and component which then you will get higher picture quality and sound

The J man bought the core xbox 360 and it may be shocking but his 360 has never gotten the rrod. It only came with the red/yellow/white wire.

And also the J man heard component doesnt support 1080p , is it true?

Alright J man here are some answers for you.  First the 360 will output 1080p over component wires.  Unfortunately a lot of Tv's will only display up to 1080i on component hook ups.  You'll have to look at your manual to know what you Tv will do.

On the VGA audio problem, if I looked at the right TV pics, your TV only has a 3.5mm audio jack as an audio input for the vga cable.  The optical jack is an output and all the analog audio hook ups on the TV are for diifferent inputs.  Your either going to have to use the 3.5mm jack or hook it up to a receiver.

How would the J man check what his tv supports through component? What would the general title be?

I believe most tvs display what quality they are transmitting, if not you can check through your xbox settings i believe
