I dunno... I wouldn't be feeling depressed, especially since on average atheists make 10% more money than religious types. I find it far more depressing for someone to be blindly believing in something because others told them about it than not....

And yes, religion is horrible. It is THE greatest divisive force in the world, and also the most powerful tool in ctolrolling millions at a time. It is a tool, and nothing more. A tool for the people who know how to use it to control those millions. It is like a literal cancer upon the world, destroying it from within by causing some of the greatest conflicts in history. Basically, the world would have been far better off without religion. And it's not religion, it's blind faith of ANY sort. Religion just happens to be the most widespread blind faith. Marx put it best "Religion is opium for the masses."

Yeah yeah you and me have had the whole religion discussion before and it all ended civily and I doubt anyone of us has been any more enlightened than before. If we were to start arguing I'd imagine we'd end up in the exact same place before (somethign about The Sims and Matrix....).
