Is that sarcasm?? £97,395 spread between countless retailers is peanuts. Thats why the VAT thing was always a total non event and spin by the inept tosspot running our country at the moment. Oh.... by the way you do realise why it couldnt go below 15% dont you... back to our previous debate of the other day... Europe would have to sanction it... marvellous.

Well, I've just done a little more Maths:
2.5% of RRP * Number of consoles sold last week (360 done at assumption that Arcade = 50%, Pro 25%, Elite 25%)
Wii = £150,895
PS3 = £146,092
360 = £135,765
DS = £82,362
PSP = £36,029
PS2 = £19,530
Total: £570,673.
That was one week. Software and accessories not included. These VAT cuts came in just before the Christmas period, too. January is typically a slow time of the year. No big games were released last week, and nothing major happened in the industry on the whole.
It has a much bigger effect than you think. (My dad's company ended up saving around £100 per day thanks to this VAT cut. That's a big saving for a unit at their size.)
You really wouldn't like my MSN avatar at the moment, of that I can assure you
