I agree with you about the original xbox controller... If you didn't have large hands (I do), it was a bitch. And those bean-shaped buttons were ridiculously stupid. But when the S-controller came out, it had potential. When the 360 released, all the problems (other than the d-pad) were fixed.
Frankly, the PS controller cramps my hands while I can play the 360 controller for hours on end with no problem whatsover. While the Dual Shock revolutionized controllers, the 360 controller evolutionized the design. It's a superior controller in every way excepting the d-pad. It has a better layout, it has better triggers, it has a better design, period. The Dual Shock was amazing in 1998. Now when you try to play a game that requires finite control over the right analog, it shows its weaknesses.
