Most of the games on retro systems allow you to do this, and you can buy them sometimes at prices that are much lower than what they are worth.

You aren't joking, last month I bought an NES System Test Cartridge for 6 dollars at a Flea Market. I got it home and found out it was worth around $100 dollars on E-bay.

I know it's not really a game, but I have found games worth eight or nine times what I paid for them. I once picked up Dragon Warrior IV for $3 and found out it's worth around $40.

Alot of the games I own now weren't originally mine. My wife's brother gave them to her a while back and when we got married she brought them. I've picked up a bunch since then and Now my NES collection alone is well over 300 games and Valued at roughly 3-5k

I used to make a lot of money buying games here and selling them online.  It was a nice little side job for me and i was able to play many games, and make money doing it.  Part of the reason might be because where i live is a very cheap place to live and everything is cheap, but many stores around here have set prices for all games on a certain system and then i can get some serious steals.  Every week i would travel around town and go to about 10 different places and i had a book that i made with the prices of basically every game that i used to help me know what to buy.

I think i bought marvel vs capcom 2 about 10 different times, on all kinds of systems.  The pawn shop near me sold every xbox, PS2, and gamecube game for $10 (this was more than 2 years ago).  Other games that were easy to find and sell at higher prices were DOTA volleyball, DDR, and .hack.
