I never played an SRPG before, not even FF:tactics. VC was my first and everything about it was just awesome starting from the art style to the characters, the battle system, the story, the game is just epic. I've finished it twice back-to-back and still can't get enough.
Don't judge the game based on the demo. The demo is just a meaningless skirmish battle that doesn't do the game justice. Just get it and reward sega for their best game in years. You won't regret it.
