I have 2 NES Systems (soon to be a thirdwhen I can find a top loader).
2 N64 Systems.
2 PS2 Systems and 1 Japanese PS2.
And multiple Game Boy systems.
I don't think these are negative things. I think of these multiple systems as redundancy. When (and its not if but when) one of these systems fails, I will have the other as a backup. I own too many games to hope that a future game system will be supporting an NES or N64 cart. Or even a PS2 game disk down the road.
I keep very good care of my consoles. No system has ever died on me, even my launch systems like my original Game Boy, GameCube and PS2. But I don't want to take a chance so I buy a secondary system when I have a chance. And you'd be surprised what you can find at thrift stores or used game stores for super cheap.
