Ok, we are talking RTS now, so I will chime in again on RTS and general and the specific question here.
1. Want to talk underrated RTS titles, well, I have two series for people to consider: Kohan and Warlords: Battlecry. Kohan does things more strategically, and offers some great twists to things. And Warlords: Battlecry well, it provides more of everything and a better interface. Plus throw in a persistent hero. And there are a LOT of factions. Both games are sprite based, rather than polygons (ok, last Kohan used polygons), but if people hype Starcraft still, then Battlecry and Kohan should be looked at. Oh yes, and the AI is good in both series.
2. Starcraft 2 is now set to be a trilogy, with each faction getting its own full campaign.
3. As far as sales and whatnot goes, I would expect Starcraft 2 to outsell Halo Wars. HOWEVER, if Halo Wars does for RTS what Halo did for FPS, expect Halo Wars to be looked back as much more of a groundbreaking title than Starcraft 2. Not sure how exactly Starcraft 2 is going to redefine or expand the RTS genre at all. It will likely sell great, but not be genre defining. What Halo Wars has the chance to do is put RTS on the map on consoles the way it has never been done before. And, once that happens, look for RTS to start leaving the PC market the way FPS has. Oh, it will still be there, but the top production titles will appear on consoles.
So, Halo Wars wins the war, while Starcraft II wins the sales battle.
