Microsoft does not own the IP.
Publishing != own.
All they could possibly have gotten out of publishing it is an exclusive for a period. But it's not their IP, the game could be coming to a lot of platforms. The economy is down. EA is not going to be pulling any punches with the company on the line. If they can sell an additional 500k units of a game at no risk, and then send the game multi, they're gonna do it.
The way of third-party exclusives is going the way of the dodo.
The only remaining TP exclusive games are going to be Gears of War, Metal gear Solid 4, and that may just be it. I fully expect SO4 and DR to make their way to the PS3, the same way I expect FFVXIII to go to the 360. The economy is down, and you got to get in where you fit in.
