No it won't GT PSP would provide a nice boost in EU, but no game can really help it in the West. I wonder if R* will go back to the PSP if Chinatown Wars flops. (Anything less than 2 million would be a massive flop)

I'm pretty sure it will only need sell a fraction of 2m to not be a flop.

And I'm sure they didn't need Liberty City Stories to sell 5 million alone on the PSP.

No GTA game will lose money, I'm talking amount of profit. What's the point of doing a DS one that sells 1-2 million if you can make one on PSP that sells 3-5 million.

Production costs.  DS looks to be like GTA 1+ 2 style, so probably have no cutscenes, no voice acting and none of a million other things to add cost to GTA games.

But look at how much more R* got out of GTA: LCS than a possible 1-2 million of Chinatown.

The PSP version sold over 5 mil, then they ported the PSP version (so a port of a port), back to the PS2, and sold another 3.5 million.  That's successful milkage of over 8 million copies of the same game.  No way Chinatown will ever bring back the profit that this game had.
