Next generation will be a completley new ball game , both MS and Sony ignored the demographic that Nintendo ignored and it's pretty certain that they'll be coming for it next generation .
Nintendo has the 1st place advantage going into next gen but that alone won't be enough to ensure sucesss next gen . Nintendo could opt for the safer route of a Wii Mote 2 , Wii Sports 2 , Wii Fit 2 but I imagine they'd get murdered if either Sony or MS capitilised on the newer demographic with a more innovative approach.
I don't think it can be said at this moment in time for certain if Microsoft can win next gen or any gen after it , we'll have to see how the big 3 atempt to capture the newly established demographic whilst not scaring the traditional gamer , it's highly risky for all involved and expect at least 1 of the 3 to slip up ; Nintendo isn't immune to failiure so it could just as likely be them.
