Accrding to Sony apparently there is only one.. Seriously take a look at Nintendo's controllers, they're all large jumps ahead of each other and all the controllers after them follow that trend
I mean even the GameCube controller was very different to the others, look at its button layout, it was also easily the most comfortable of last generation.. easily
