Nintendo is NOT getting out of the handheld market. That is crazy talk. Really, that's the nuttiest thing I've heard of in a while. Beyond crazy.

Exactly. I don't even think that they will reduce resources from the DS at all, myself. If nintendo was seriously going to let the DS wither on the vine, then sony would have been able to figure that out....and they wouldn't even bother with the new PSP or the price cut.

ARGH! why do you keep insisting that the statement "we'll be shifting more resources to the Wii somehow translates to "we're abandoning the DS"?

When Microsoft stated that they'd be entering the console market, did you say "I'm really suprised Microsoft is going to forfeit the PC operating system market to Apple"? Or were you too concerned that Apple was discontinuing computer manufacturing all together because they had shifted some resources to the ipod?

I mean really? do you think that putting a stronger focus on the Wii means that they'll cancel DS games currently in production and not announce any future games? They are a corporation with many many employees, numerous development teams and a big whack of money.  They can expend a little more energy in one department without amputating the others. Nintendo will continue to expend a sizable amount of time and money on the DS, reglardless of how much they put into the Wii

And yes, I do apologize for my offensive and insulting post. It's late and my right eye is itchy from allergies.

stof, if you read my last post you would see that I said that the statement was probably corporate BS.
