I am for Death Penalty few reasons (mainly practical), only for harshest crimes.

If someone is a serial rapist/murderer etc. etc. he is not (for me) considered human because his behavior is inhumane such person gives up its human rights, he is like mad dogs that we have to put down to protect ourselves, and there is no chance of redeaming for such individual (and in cases of serious or really viscious murdrers is really hard to get it wrong), therefore for the sake of society such problem should be eliminated.

Cheaper, why would we have to pay for such Criminals for their stay in prison for 30-40 years? Especially when one inmate costs government much more then children in care or in institutions (in most of european countries).

Punishment must fit the crime, someone that takes away life of other person in cold blood, without a reason cannot escape responsibility, and do not tell me that death is easier then living in prison, people who are sentenced do not give other people that choice or a chance.

Capital Punishment can be a detterent (maybe it does not work in America) but in other countries it seems to have an effect, look at Britain before and after abolition of Capital Punishment.

And about used form, electric chair or gas chamber are really brutal forms of doing it, there are many less painful or quicker alternatives.

I do consider myself libertarian, and im in favour of capital punishment.
