I'm pro death penalty for white collar crimes. Like Madoff, should be executed. He's ruined more lives than someone who commits a third degree murder. Most white collar crime has a more profound impact on society as well. Plus it would be a huge deterrence. Hang some corporate criminals from the gallows and watch corporate crime drop. It's always going to be risk vs reward and if you make the risk for white collar crime death, instead of 5-10 years of prison (out in 3 1/2) there would be no reason to commit the crime because most of these fucks aren't insane, just greedy.
Of course, this whole idea would fuck up the hierarchy of crime. It's more about keeping the lower class in check than doing social justice. If it was about justice, I'm sure my suggestions would be taken seriously.
(This is all of course if the judicial system is used as punishment/deterrence and not rehabilitation)
