I'm surprised that Eidos hasn't been bought ages ago already.

It's just a matter of time before Eidos, ATARI and maybe even SEGA will be swallowed by one of the big 4 third party publishers (EA, Activision, Ubisoft and Take Two).

Codemasters on the other hand, I don't think anyone wants to buy them, because their niche is to develop and publish mostly low budget crappy games.

Eidos is very attractive to buy... Tomb Raider is a solid IP and worth buying.  They also have Just Cause which was a 360 cult favorite.  Just Cause 2 should ship this year giving them a solid IP.

Codemasters is attractive too, but the price is probably too high. Its racing games excellent (GRID, DiRT this generation). And they hold the rights to Formula One racing now. Overlord was a solid new IP (didn't sell great but received pretty good reviews).  You can't fault them for breaking into new territory. Turning Point and Rise of the Arganauts were failures. But, they are building new engines that will expand their reach by using their racing games to fund expansion.  I'm not sure what financial position Codemasters is in, but I think Codemasters is a bright light that is trying to grow in a industry that is talking about contraction a lot lately.
