I believe this is just a nasty thing.

Say some people are planning to buy a PS3 before April, they hear of this and thus PS3 sales are lower in the upcoming months because of this. They will take up Yahoo's word for it and expect a price cut in April. Since Sony never confirmed this it may happen or may not.

If it does, sales will go up.

But if it does not, expect people to get upset with Sony, thinking they were the ones who confirmed the price cut right now. They will resort to calling Sony liars and greedy corporate guys.

This is false advertising and Sony needs to take action about it.
