The least smartest thing Sony could do is to start a price war with Microsoft or Nintendo.
But I do think the PS3 would outself the 360 if all other circumstances remained the same and the PS3 was priced at $300. Sony and the Playstation brand have massive appeal and recognition, but in economic uncertainty, brand allegiance starts to deminish.
I'm not a fanboy, I just try to tip the balance in favor of logic and common sense.
