There is some other issue then just money I think. Sony JUST got into Steam bandwagon while it has been out for years and many others have as well. Sony would/should have been went on Steam if they wanted more money before- and they do need money.

I think the community aspect is what turns companies like Blizzard off- they want to handle the community themselves. Steam has forums, online store, friends messenger, friend profiles pages, achievements, etc. Companies like Blizzard want all those people in their applications not in Steam's. Blizzard has lots of money to offer those community features easily and goes along with their online reality things like MMORPGs to offer them.
