As has been said before -- US is very different than UK.
Right now, half a month into the new year, Amazon has no Wiis in the US to directly sell to customers. It has to refer them to other sellers Meanwhile, there is a slight price discount direct from Amazon (3 UKP) on the Wii in the UK.
So while there might be stock in the UK, there is virtually none to be found in the US. And its not just Amazon. The largest gamer store (Game Stop), the largest electronics seller (Best Buy) and the largest retailer (Wal-Mart) are all out of Wiis. And the largest toy store (Toys R Us) offers them only in a bundle.
