Actually, that was my point. I mention that the PS3 is not selling what it should be for a Playstation, but that it's not the"sinking ship" analaysts/competing fans/M$ make it out to be. No other console, IMO, would have the PS3's userbase at an entry price of $599.99, later reduced to $499.99 and now $399.99, with an option of $499.99. I believe only PS3 could've, and now will ever again, sell at those fairly high prices. That speaks volumes of the Sony Playstation brand in and of itself. Now, do I think that what's happening isn't Sony's own fault, hardly. It's very much a result of: bad judgement/bad PR/arrogance. However, this idea of the PS3 being a sinking ship is ludicrous, and I say that we should wait until PS3 is at $299.99 before we bury it at sea and call it a sinking ship.

But if they release the PS4 at $599 do you think it will still see the support that the PS3 received?

Personally I think that most people were willing (and in some cases are still willing) to spend so much money on the PS3 because they expected it to be the dominant (in terms of sales and support) platform that the Playstation and PS2 were ... Being that there is no chance of this for the PS3 its brand has been damaged quite a bit.
