Frame Rate Issues and Newer Versions of the PS3

The xbox can't do 1080p from what i have heard, they use HDMI to upscale the image or something. Plus the wii is last gen technology, wii fans already want a HDD, DVD/blu-ray/HD-DVD add-ons, plus lots of stuff the system was not made for. The wii is very close to the same specs of the first Xbox, and still lacks in several locations as Shaders and some other stuff.

Within 3 years all new TV's will be 1080p, and MS/Nintendo will be left behind to fail with the crap they made.

  Considering the number of SDTVs that I sell over their HDTV counterparts I have to wonder why anyone assumes that HDTV is anywhere near being dominant. SDTVs are far from dead. We do move a fair number of 720p tvs in the 15-20 inch range. We have some 1080i tvs that well are able to sell occasionally. We do not sell 1080p. Our website sells it, but they are from crap brands that I would not reccomend. The chain I work for is large enough that if it doesn't sell something, it is not something that the average consumer is ready for. Most people are still buying cheap dvd players or cheap dvd/vhs players. We still sell an obsecene amount of blank vhs tapes.  Blu-ray, HDDVD, 720p, and 1080p are concepts that I have to explain to customers who have no concept of what Hd is. It is going to be far more than 3 years before the mass market hass accepted such tech.
