There would be little difference in making the 360 play 3D games and movies. If the tech uses the GPU like it says, then games could easily be built to do this on the 360 as well. And since this technology is springing (tada!) onto the 360 officially, before the PS3, it is likely that MS could make 3D games before Sony. Perhaps this is partially what MS is talking about when they say they have lots of innovation in store for the 360 in 2009. Just imagine it... 3D Netflix HD streaming... that would be awesome! And the only console to officially support it would be the 360! Cha-Ching!!! Ignorance they say??? Pfft to that. Of course the PS3 is capable of it, just as the 360 is..... no one ever said the PS3 couldn't do it... merely that MS may beat them to it yet again. |
I'm not saying the 360 couldn't do it, just saying that only to this point have Sony done it already. Plus if I am not mistaken the 360 would require one of those new 3D ready plasmas and DLPs. Which are still rare and expensive. And plasmas are the worst thing a gamer could get because of the burn in problem still rampant among all plasmas. But the way Sony is doing it is all you would need is a 120hz HDTV. So Microsoft may beat Sony to 3D movies, but very few people would be able to enjoy it due to the TV requirements.
