I would say probably not. Public perception of the series seemed to go way down as time went on and more titles were released. The only smart decision would be to test the series out on the Wii, because the engine, art, etc. could remain intact, lowering costs in case it bombs.
I'm not sure why exclusivity would matter at all though. Onimusha wasn't exactly maxing out the PS2 and could have looked better on the other two consoles if it were to have been ported past the original. Exclusivity would be fine if it were made for the Wii, but if it were to go HD, it would be guaranteed multiplatform, no questions asked. Capcom has gone on record that their new strategy is multiplatform.
