What does everyone think about the 2009 lists for each system? I only have a wii but being objective about the lists posted this is what i thought:

I personally thought the 360 has a very good list and they will for sure be announcing more games to come out this year in the next few months. There were about 9 games that i would be very interested in if i had a 360.

I thought ps3's list was a little weaker than 360's but still strong. Although if FFXIII doesn't come out in the west this year that definitely hurts them. But this may be the best year yet for ps3 games. I don't expect many big new surprises though since sony has been announcing everything for the ps3 way way in advance. There were about 8 games i would be very interested in if i had a ps3.

While the other two systems both seem to have very good lineups, the wii i think blew them away. This is gonna be a banner year for the wii. The second half of last year was extremely weak. but now 3rd parties are finally bringing out an onslaught of good games for this year. And we don't even know what big game(s) nintendo will release but we can be sure there will be one or two big nintendo franchises hitting this year. So like the 360 there will certainly be plenty more games announced for this year in the next few months. From the list there were 7 games that i think are must buys for me but another 7 games that i am very interested in and can't wait to find out more about them, so 14 games total compared to ps3's 8 and 360's 9. not to mention add in whatever big franchises nintendo will release this year. Although a couple of my must buys might not come out in the west till next year (tales, monster hunter). But still, by the end of this year ps360 fanboys will finally have to shut up about the wii not having enough core games, cuz from what we know right now the wii's lineup looks to be better than either of the hd twins. i think the two big holes in wii's lineup so far have been the lack of solid action games and rpgs. those holes will be completely patched up with great games this year! (for any wii-haters that are confused here's 18 examples of solid action games & rpgs this year, 10 of which i personally am interested in getting: madworld, muramasa, sin & punishment 2, monster hunter 3, arc rise fantasia, fragile, rune factory, little king's story, sonic and the black knight, kizuno, tenchu, fatal frame 4, cursed mountain, house of the dead, overlord, conduit, deadly creatures, and tales of ten)

my analysis of this gen's years so far has been:

360 had a terrible first year with really only gears of war and oblivion worth playing but it was the only system out so it wins by default.

second year for 360 and launch year for ps3 and wii: 360 had the best games i thought, despite having another pretty crappy first half of the year. while the wii easily had the best launch of the 3 systems and followed it with some good games later in the year and had the great mario and metroid, still 360's amazing fall lineup won it by a little for microsoft i think. ps3 i'd say was just behind wii.

2008: wii had the best first half with nmh, ssb, and mario kart. but then with hardly anything in the second half i'd say 360 won again with ps3 in a close second.

2009: wii looks to be the likely winner especially if nintendo releases one or two big franchise games (star fox, fzero, donkey kong, kid icarus, etc). 3rd party support is FINALLY hitting this year and it is strong! with what looks like another good year for ps3 and 360 and possibly an incredible year for wii this should easily be the best year for games so far this generation!

what do you all think?

end of '08 predictions: wii - 43 million,  360 - 25 million, ps3 - 20 million

Games I've beat recently: Super Mario Galaxy, Knights of the Old Republic, Shadow of the Collossus
