I am not surprised by this story. Americans have an inordinately high percentage of citizens who are "very proud" to be Americans. In most polls, the higher percentages are usually the British and the Japanese who average around 55% of citizens who are "very proud" to be their respective nationality. With Americans, the percentage who are "very proud" to be Americans is approximately 80%.
