I dk, firstly Nintendo advertise like a mutha fuba. This i believe is the no.1 problem affecting Wii 3rd sales. This fits in with game marketing and audience.

Secondly, assuming what works for Nintendo works for them and then they don't even develop a quality product anyway. They don't bother to really compete.

Thirdly, They don't try and change the image like they should be doing. Fine Leave Nintendo to make casual but it is, in Reggie's words, time to step up and put the best games on Wii. The more core titles the better the sales momentum towards that market. Eventually duel console owners will choose to dust off their Wii's.

Why can't the others get these sales? Because PS360 don't make games for everyone. They can try, but their image is just as tarnished with blood and violence as Nintendo's is with flowers and bunny rabbits.

Exclusive Nintendo problem? its not a problem, but 20 yrs of experience in making games fun for everyone has taught it something.

I like that final point you make. Why compete right? Especially against so many other third party companies. Especially for the same core market. Well i think its because that core market buys shit loads of games frequently.

I disagree that penetration of the PS360 is easy though. Look at non big studio releases, they don't make money. New ip's don't make money.

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.
