I remember reading an EGM issue not too long ago where Killzone 2 was the cover story, IIRC GG said that there is not co-op and Shane (I think it was him) said that it felt kind of awkward that there is no co-op since ur squad mates are always with u (I think he said Rico). So there was never supposed to be Co-Op. For those saying that it should have been on the disc, be grateful, Co-Op was never meant to be in it, it's just an added bonus.
Oh and it doesn't matter if it doesn't have to render 2 images on one ps3, it's all about balancing the game. People will complain if playing co-op makes the game too easy.
