FYI: Nikkei is Japans most important financial analyst and if they expect this kind of losses, it will likely not be pretty. Don't know what relevant 3rd party information has to do with bashing.

 

well you answered my question so no point in posting it.

But, while it is the largest analyst group in Japan, what is their average on being correct versus being wrong?

Right before financial results?  Usually... very.  Right before companies post orgnizations like this are rarely ever wrong.

 

well I guess it is expected... with so many major companies and chains crashing Sony is bound to lose something, but after Christmas? geez.. thats painful. Hopefully their new TVs and crap are cheaper to manufacture.

I wonder, is it cheaper for Sony to produce stuff in the US now to supply US and EU demand versus their current locations?

 

Probably not... the issue isn't so much what they're buying is more expensive... as it is... what we're paying them isn't worth as much.

Electronics have very low profit margins because there are a lot of differnet makers pushing each other.

I mean the dollar has dropped but it hasn't dropped China or Signapore low....

I mean heck... the 360 my girlfriend got me was made in China and Singapore. (Great "American" system there.)

Still the Japanese government should step in... soon.  The Yen being so high just isn't good for the country.
