| WessleWoggle said: But, eating meat is wrong... Is your opinion. Which I happen to strongly disagree with, and would appreciate it if you wouldn't insult people who do choose to eat meat. You can keep your addiction to meat live and well. Whoever said anything about an addiction? I eat meat, yes, but I eat many other things too and am in no way "addicted." I hope you're one of the ones selected when the aliens start coming down to feast on our delicious flesh! Muahahaha. Fear them!!! Meat eaters are juicy! This is the kind of thing that really pisses me off. ZOMG! You eat meat, burn in hell!! You can not eat meat, and I'm fine with that, just don't bash people who do eat meat by saying that you basically want them dead. Let me say... I don't have a problem with meat if: The animal was not produced in a mass production facility. The animal did not suffer before death. The animal got to experience a normal brain shut down. (wasn't shot in the head) There's nothing wrong with eating meat if you live in a third world country. But in civilised societys we have alternate nutrition sources that don't have to be derived from suffering, so there's no justification. Oh, so it's okay if they do it, but not if I do it? So, all I have to do to justify me eating meat in your eyes is move to a third world country? It's morally wrong. But, just to be truthful here, I can't avoid eating meat. Isn't this basically saying that you need meat? My family buys it and makes it, and I need protein. There choice to consume it has nothing to do with me, I'm not directly responsible. But, I would never buy any animal product on my own, then I am part of the demand and responsible. I would also be a good guest and eat animal products if they were served. Guilt by association only works so far. Meat is murder. Meat provides food. When you eat meat you're directly responsible for that animals death. Directly doesn't mean you bashed it over the head and ate it, it means, you're part of the demand. If there was no massive demand there would be no massive production meat industry. But, sadly we will continue our selfish, immoral, genocidal ways with the creatures that surround us. The greed of corperations is the cause of the conditions; maybe you should tell them to treat the animals better before they slaughter them. They deserve peace and prosperity as much as you or me. Not only do they deserve it, but many, if not most, have it. Humans deserve it, like you said, but not all of them get it. Look at what we do to our own kind; and that isn't even for food. We just kill because we happen to disagree with each other, or simply because you want me dead. (I'm not specifically talking about anyone, just applying it to those idiots out there who do actually do this.) Do as you will if it harms none. Eating meat harms animals. I could argue that eating plants harms animals in general. Less plants = less oxygen, which could lead to an increase in global warming, which could spiral out of control, creating another Venus like scenario here on Earth. Not only that, but it could end up in entire species being wiped out because of this lack of oxygen before the Venus thing happened. See? I can play this game too. Pretty much anything you do, someone could argue that it is harmful to something. You're not directly harming anything when you consume meat, but you are choosing to be part of a society that condones it. I choose to seperate, I choose not to buy bloody, sick, carnage. If you eat meat, don't deny that it's fucked! I don't care if you don't think it's wrong... Why are you telling me what to think then? |

Only their beliefs... Well, that would be saying something bad about Christians, since as a Christian, my beliefs are a part of my life. And I hope you mean that you would judge me if I did those "whacky" things, not that you do judge me because I'm Christian and may believe in them. It pisses me off when people assume I'm talking about them when I never said I was. It pisses me off when people assume I'm talking about them when I never said I was. I only used your attitude to show that some people do think that way, and some think that way about me. I never said anything about you thinking that. |
| WessleWoggle said: I never said you were evil for eating meat, and I never said that you said I was evil for eating meat; see my above comment, I said: "It pisses me off that animals are tortured for consumption." "This attitude pisses me off: We can eat animals!!! The bible says god gave man dominion over animals" (this attitude, though, is evil) This is not my justification for eating animals. My justification is I never said eating or enjoying meat was evil, it's normal.. Average. But what did I say about people on average? "It pisses me off that humans on average are fucktards." So, you just insulted everyone who eats meat... because they eat meat. |
I'll be very blunt with you; I have a very conservative attitude on most issues.
Eating meat keeps me alive; I enjoy it, and I don't want to live on a vegetarian diet. I'm not one of those people who buys into all of that liberal "feeling" crap. I don't believe that we should harm animals, and no, they shouldn't suffer before death. However, I don't care for all that "oh, we kill animals for food! we're so terrible!" People kill for much worse reasons, and food isn't even a bad one. Look at the radical Muslims who hate Americans; they want us dead because we exist. I don't want the animals dead; I'm not some kind of disturbing serial killer, but I see no reason to stop eating meat to save all the animals in the world. We've already got all sorts of animal rights groups out there trying to do that anyway.
If we can make the slaughter houses a better experience for animals at little extra cost, I'm all for it. Go tell the big corperations to sing a new song, and see the good it does. You'll never get everyone to stop eating meat, so you can't just say that "if we got everyone to stop buying, they'd change." It just won't happen. Sorry.
