People that call The Conduit a generic shooter have some nerve. What is Halo other than your pinicle of generic FPS. What sets The Conduit apart from Shooter #897 is that is uses the Wiimote effectivly (or at least is supposed to). People that havent played a competant Wii FPS wont know anything about that, or frankly the wont care. Watching a video and controlling the video are two entirely different things. |
Everything about The Conduit is generic.
Atleast Halo and Killzone have their own distinct universes. Art direction in the Conduit is basically non existent. You run around dull corridors fighting stupid looking bug things.
The Helghast and the Combine, their worlds, their design, their weapons and their story are far more interesting. I don't think anyone can disagree with that.
And since when was IR in a Wii FPS new or exciting? Last I checked, there's no second analog stick, so it's pretty much mandatory to have IR aiming.
I'm not just hating on the Wii. Metroid Prime 3 is my favourite FPS this gen (if you wanna call it an FPS) and I don't expect either Halo or KZ to top it. I'm just being honest here. Controls don't make a mediocre game good.
