This is a fairly judgemental post and an unfair one. We don't care and fret about the difference (at least I don't), it's just something we talk about because we are hardcore gamers and so we talk about myraid subjects whereas a casual gamer will probably talk this way about cars, or a significant other, or tv.

This is just something we are into, and so we are going to talk about all aspects of it. I don't mean to be rude but you seem to be casual since you don't know what you are talking about "reasonable"

That logic follows completely from mine or maybe it leads to mine, so I agree. Although, I think that may be on the low end of the hardcore scale.

 

One - the element that only HC talk about it while casuals don't is near enough 100% accurate.  Only HC gamers argue the toss of what HC vs C means, etc. etc.

As...I....said...before..... we talk about it because it is one of the things you talk about as an avid gamer. It is just like how a car enthusiast would talk about transmission differences. A lot of people own cars, but the "hardcore" ones (gearheads)talk about tuning and parts whereas other people just drive them and have a basic understanding or knowledge. I'm not saying that its the same dichotomy, but generally someone who does something more, will have more to talk about on the subject. Those gearheads will then look at the average consumer and say, "I'm hardcore". But apparently this means he is a wanker right?

Your active ingredient in your post is the word fret. You mean to attack those that know how to differentiate themselves. I'm sure some people care about the difference, but there are many hardcore gamers who do not, and even casuals who care. IE: many if not half of the gamers on this site, like you. There are many self-proclaimed casuals and "core" gamers on this site who still argue about it. So, your "near 100%" opinion falls just flat of an argument.

If some "hardcorez" choose to distance themselves from the wii and blame it for ruining gaming, then you can tell them. In this thread I made no such gesture, and I even conceded that casual gaming was still fun. I even said that the difference I listed was simply a "cute" explanation. That doesn't seem like something a "hardcorez" would say.

Two - It only takes a few visits to a few boards to see that many (not all of course) hardcore gamers (i.e. those that identify themselves that way) do indeed fret about it, particularly the thought of casual games/gaming ruining the serious business of hardcore gaming

Given the context of your original statement, you meant to malign the topic in discussion. You are using anecdotal evidence from so a called tiny amount of experience to back up your original statement. Indeed, because of this hostile attitude, I decided to use your opinion, obviously based on cursory, perfunctory, surface (i.e. casual) inspection to call you "casual"

I'm sorry if I offended you, because you seem to have taken offense. If you are going to be hostile about something up front, expect to be critisized.

Like I said, your gaming being casual was not what I was referring to. However, because I called you casual (insulted you) I don't think you would have gone back and re-read my post to derive the meaning. I'm sure this was just a reactive response, summated by list #5.

Four - I'd say on the evidence my opinions are more informed that yours
